At CAT5 Metal Roofing, we don’t just install roofs
We install confidence. Our 9-step installation process is designed to ensure every roof is built with precision, care, and durability that lasts for decades.
1st step
Property Protection
The job begins with meticulously protecting your driveway, garage doors, air-conditioner, pool, lawn & landscaping.
2nd step
Remove the existing roof
Removal of the old roofing material. All Tile or Shingles and roofing underlayment will removed from the roof exposing the underlying wood decking. The old roofing material will be removed and taken away.
3rd step
Replace any rotten plywood
REPLACE up to 320 Square Feet (10 sheets) of rotten wood decking AT NO CHARGE. Typically, when a roof gets to the end of its useful life, some wood is found to be decayed or rotten. We number each replaced piece and document the replacement
4th step
Renail the entire decking
We will completely re-nail the entire roof decking according to the Florida Building Code using galvanized ring-shank nails in order to strengthen the entire roof decking substrate.
5th step
Dry-Install the water & fireproof underlayment
We install the Miami-Dade approved Polyglass® XRF (Fire Rated) Underlayment. This is a “peel & stick” underlayment requiring very few fastener penetrations and is the Gold Standard of roofing underlayments. Other underlayment options exist including 30lb felt with VersaShield but requires thousands of associated fastener penetrations which creates potential leak sources.
6th step
Install all new ventilation components
Lead stacks, vents, goose necks, or any other ventilation systems will be replaced with color matching vents.
7th step
Install new trim components
Install all new trim metal including drip edge, fascia wrap & roof-to-wall flashings.
8th step
Metal Roof Installation Complete
Now the transformation begins—your high-performance metal roof is installed using hidden fasteners and hurricane-grade techniques.
9th step
Clean Up
During the last step in our process, a metal magnet will be run across the entire property and all debris will be removed and all permits closed.
